The show will be available for viewing for approximately one month. Gallery Hours vary, generally Wed.-Sunday 10am-5pm (Call 607-272-3667 for more information.)
Rob Licht’s metal sculptures are about the influence of landscape on the individual. His works often combine landscape references with anthropomorphic features and invite viewer interaction. This is art you can touch. Visit his website at http://www.roblichtstudio.com.
Ellie Jones’s brightly colored paintings are created out of a need to express personal responses to her environment and experience. Each painting encompasses an intellectual and exciting adventure into color, design and ideas.
William Benson’s sensibilities in painting have been defined by a continuing respect and admiration for those artists before him who have wielded the great representational brush. But he also believes that there is as much power and emotion in abstraction. He attempts to reconcile the two in his work, whether in landscapes, with the figure or in still life. Visit Bill's website at http://www.wmbenson.com.
All three artists are long-time Ithacans whose work has been featured in many local, regional, and national galleries and shows.
City Lights Inn and Antiques Shop is located on West Hill, overlooking the Ithaca Valley. There is a rustic sunken garden set in the foundation of an old barn with an amazing panoramic view of the city. The mix of slightly urban and mostly bucolic landscape could easily excite the creative sensibilities in all of us! Inspiration for the show comes from a desire to gather together with our community to enjoy the arts in an unusual and evocative setting. Please join us for this exciting event, and other summer art events at City Lights!
